Toy Packaging Checklist: Prevent Damage in Transit
Check position, securing, movement and pressure before mass packing—especially when heavy components or liquid bottles could damage other toy parts.
Packaging problems are not always caused by weak cartons.
Sometimes, the issue is simply where a heavier component is placed inside the package.
In one bubble-toy order, the customer found that the bottled bubble solution was not placed at the bottom as expected. Because the bottle was relatively heavy, it could put pressure on other items during handling and transportation.
It was a small detail, but an important reminder for us.
What We Learned
For products that include liquid bottles, batteries, metal parts or other heavier accessories, the packing position should not be left to assumption.
A clear packing instruction should show:
- where the heavier component should be placed;
- how it should be secured;
- whether it can move during transportation;
- whether it may press against other products.
The requirement should also be checked during actual mass packing, not only on the approved sample.
